Community

The Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) connects Minorities, Women, Disadvantaged Workers to High Paying Union Construction Careers. Communities of color support the CBA because they see it as a way to do things differently and create opportunities:

  • Fair access to construction union apprenticeship training and jobs.
  • Follow through – oversight and monitoring, by a collaborative committee of community, union and industry partners, to help maintain worker diversity and continued employment.
  • CBA funds support outreach, recruitment and training for community members.
  • Fair treatment on job sites, union benefits, long term support services, mentoring, steady work and career advancement.

How will the CBA work for you?

  • Pre-apprenticeship and community partners recruit and prepare diverse community members for CBA construction projects, through foundational construction training and education at no cost to the workers.
  • With initial training, community members get access to the Union Apprenticeship “earn while you learn” training system, which helps low-income workers build good careers in the construction trades.
